ABOUT
Hi, I’m Cheryl Russell, owner of Mulberry House. I have lived and worked in Rutherglen for 30 years and the relaxing beauty of this place still amazes me. I love the outdoors and everything this welcoming town has to offer! While I am a keen road bike rider, gravel riding is my favourite thing to do on the weekends with friends. It doesn’t get much better than riding on the Rail Trails, which offers 45 kilometres of safe access through the region, including routes along the Murray River and to local cellar doors. At the end of the ride there are some great coffee shops, cafes and eateries with fresh, quality food.
Rutherglen is a great regional location, from it’s strong café and dining scene. Well positioned near Beechworth, Yackandandah, and Bright, it makes an ideal base for exploring North East Victoria, on bike or by foot. There is a fabulous Mountain Riding Park in Bright! I also enjoy eating out at local wineries and listening to live music in Rutherglen and surrounds. Much of which, contribute to the area’s relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
